Each team is assigned a team manager to serve as the club’s liaison to the team’s parents and to facilitate logistics and communications. Parents interested in serving as a team manager should contact info@rfrapids.org.
Shown below is the Rapids Board of Directors: Tim Drane, President Tim is the Rapids President. He is an independent commodity trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. Tim has a BA in History from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He currently lives in River Forest with his wife Heidi, son Q (U13),Greta (U10), and daughter Natalie (Rapids Academy).
Roger Gusloff, C.P.A., Vice President Roger is CFO for Acme Refining Company, a midwestern-based recycling company specializing in metals, paper, cardboard, and electronics. He is a lifelong soccer enthusiast having played Division 1, Major Division, and in the youth divions at the club level. Roger has also coached youth soccer over the years. He lives in River Forest with his wife, Linda, and three soccer-minded sons, Roger, Eric, and Mitchell.
Joseph W. McKitrick, Treasurer Joseph is the Rapids Treasurer. He owns and operates a real estate management and consultancy firm, JWM, LLC. He received an undergraduate public accounting degree from Loyola University and a J. D. from DePaul University. He has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 1993. In addition to his undergraduate studies, Joe was a four year starter for Loyola's Division 1 soccer program. Joe resides in Oak Park with his wife Trish and his son Collin (U9).
Thomas Schaller, Website and Tryouts Thomas works in music publishing preparing scores for various international publishers, but he'd rather spend all his time on the soccer pitch. A native of Vienna, Austria, he studied musicology, composition and music pedagogy, and completed a degree in piano education. He then spent several years touring and recording with a professional vocal ensemble, but people seem more impressed when he mentions that he was a member of the Vienna Boys Choir. Since coming to the States, he has coached for AYSO (D license), and been an assistant coach and team manager for the River Forest Rapids before being asked to join the board in 2009. He plays regularly in adult league soccer, andlives in River Forest with his children, Lena (U15) and Janek (U9), and wife Julia (U...).
Carolyn Kilbride-Pasternak, Information Technology Carolyn is trained as a mechanical engineer and spent several years in residential and commercial construction. Currently, her interest is in computer and technology consulting. She has a BSME (mechanical engineering) from the University of Notre Dame. Carolyn has been on the Rapids Board since 2004. She and her husband Tom and their three children, Danny (U16), Joey (U13), and Tommy (U10) live in River Forest. John Humbert, Marketing and Sponsorship John is a Director at Forsythe Technology Inc. in the Integrated Solutions Group. He helps organizations optimize costs, manage risk, and improve performance through technology. John has been on the Rapids Board since 2009. John has a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University. He and his wife Gerri and their three children Nick (U10), Evan (U8), and Josie (Rapids Academy) live in River Forest.
Peter Mavrogenes, Fund Raising and Development Peter is President and C.E.O., Innovative Capital Advisors L.L.C. ICA provides commercial mortgage lending capabilities to the insurance industry. He has B.A. University of Chicago, 1979. Peter and his wife Mary and their two children George and Lizzy (U15) live in River Forest.
Brandon Ward, Player Recruitment Brandon is a brand and marketing communications consultant with Sapient, a digital/intractive firm. He has a BA from Indiana University and a Masters in Design from the Institute of Design at IIT in Chicago. Brandon is a passionate soccer dad having played varsity at Indiana and professional for three years here in the U.S. He and his wife Margaret, and his two daughters Elizabeth (U9) and Ava (Rapids Academy) live in River Forest.
